There are four engine choices for the new RX. These start with the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 275 horsepower. It's matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive. Next is the RX 350h, powered by a hybrid powertrain making 246 horsepower which is more economical resulting in better fuel economy. The RX500h is another hybrid package but this one makes 366 horsepower. It's matched to a 6-speed automatic transmission and Direct4 AWD system with adaptable variable suspension and four-wheel steering.
Finally, there's the RX 450h+ Plug-in hybrid making 304 horsepower. It can run on pure electric for up to 35 miles.
Lexus RX Trim Packages
The Lexus RX is available in several trim levels. They include:
- Lexus RX 350:Â Includes SmartAccess with Push Button Starter, Multi-zone climate control, 8-way power adjustable driver and passenger seats. There's also Power Tilt and Telescopic steering column, Bi-LED headlamps and Daylight Running Lights. FWD is standard, with AWD as an available option.
- RX 350 Premium:Â Includes all the above and a heated wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, Black open-pore wood trim, LED fog lamps, Rain-sensing windshield wipers, and power tilt and slide moonroof. Again, buyers can choose between front- and all-wheel drive.
- RX 350 F Sport Handling AWD:Â This model includes many features from above and adds an F Sport interior and exterior styling package, performance-inspired instrumentation, F Sport-turned adaptive variable suspension.
- RX 500h F Sport Performance AWD:Â This includes a 366 horsepower hybrid powerplant with DIRECT4 AWD system, VDIM with Dynamic Rear Wheel Steering and a perforated leather trimmed interior. Add race-inspired paddle shift levers, six-piston front brake calipers, F Sport Adaptive Variable Suspension and Active Sound Control.
- RX 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid:Â It's the first Plug-In Hybrid RX model and includes black open-pore wood trim, a panorama glass roof, wireless phone charger, Lexus 12-speaker premium sound system, race-inspired paddle shift levers and drive mode select controls.
